Mines Casino Game Review
Mines is a wonderful, completely original, and authentic casino game that stands out from slots, table games, live casino games, etc. It is developed by Spribe, which is known for its unique products.
Their most well-known game is Aviator, which you’ve definitely come across if you are a casino enthusiast. Although the game cannot be found at every casino, there are more and more operators looking to add Spribe’s games to their library.
Gameplay & Rules
Similar to Aviator, Mines has nothing to do with slots, including no reels, rows, or special symbols. At least not in the same way. The game comes with a playfield of 5×5, where you will be looking to reveal Stars and avoid Mines.
The game starts by giving you a window in which you can place a bet. There are also a couple of things players need to customize before they begin the game. This includes the number of mines in the 25 tile field.
The more mines you decide to include, the better your winnings throughout the game. Your game will begin once you click on “START” at the bottom of the betting options.
Doing so will disable the betting options field and leave you with the playfield. This will officially start the game.
Once that happens you will need to randomly guess which tiles contain a mine and which tiles contain a star. If you land on a mine, the game is over and you win nothing.
However, if you unlock a star, your total winnings will increase. The more stars you reveal, the bigger you win. Just like other Spribe games, you decide when to cash out. This gives you complete control over your gameplay and overall experience.
No matter if you want to cash out after 1 star or cash out after finding them all, the game is suitable for all sorts of risk-management strategies.
Let’s give a quick example. If you set up 5 mines on the field and unveil 1 star, you will win an X amount of money. However, if you have the same amount of mines and reveal 5 stars, your winnings will be significantly higher.
The game lets you track how many stars are left on the field, which can be seen in the top-left corner of the screen.
The betting range is $0.1 up to $100. Just like all other Spribe games, there are also shortcuts to preset bets – $1, $3, $5, and $10.
Return To Player (RTP) & Game Volatility
On Spribe’s official website, we can find information about the RTP. If you didn’t know, all Spribe games come with a 97% RTP. This includes Mines (97% RTP).
If you compare this rate with other casino games such as slots, it is actually quite high. The gold standard for slots is 96% RTP.
The volatility of the game will solely depend on how you decide to play it. This is one of the unique things about Spribe games, making it such an attraction for all sorts of players.
For example, you can place only 1 mine on the field, which will mean low volatility, but also low prices. On the other hand, if you place 15 mines you will be playing in a highly volatile environment, meaning there’s a bigger chance of losing, but also a better chance to win big.
Our suggestion would be to go for the lower spectrum of mines during gameplay. However, if you wish to play for the big wins, we suggest placing a smaller bet. It’s all up to you.
Tips & Tricks
Mines, just like Aviator, has no specific hacks/algorithms/patterns you can abuse. Of course, similar to any other game, there are many who claim to know how to “beat” and abuse the game.
A lot of information can be found throughout the web, with no solid proof. Some people show their total winnings and use that as a way to prove they’ve found a “loophole”. However, let’s be honest, a software developer will never let such a thing slide.
On the other hand, there are people who’ve proven that playing safely is better in the long run than playing for the maximum win.
With that being said, we’d like to provide a couple of tips to consider.
- Tip 1: First of all, as you might already know, casino games have Demo versions. This allows you to explore them and see if they are the right fit for you. This is a thing you must not overlook because you might realize at some point that Mines is just not for you. Whether you dislike the colors, the gameplay, the interface, etc. doesn’t matter as long as you do not enjoy the experience.
Demo versions are also a great way to figure out your own strategy. For example, in Mines, you can try testing how the different numbers of mines affect your gameplay. Since you will be playing with virtual (non-real) money, you will be able to track your wins and losses.
- Tip 2: Since Mines is completely different than Aviator, you won’t be able to track anyone’s score and learn their winnings patterns. Simply put, Mines is not a social multiplayer game. Instead, it is a completely solo experience.
As such, our second tip is a bit different. Depending on the number of Mines, we suggest you open a different tile every game. That’s because the chances of all mines being in a different place is quite high. If not all, at least 50% of the mines will have a completely different position.
You can test that out in the Demo version before trying it out for real money.
- Tip 3: Greed. One of the biggest mistakes an iGaming player can make. Being greedy can be hardly a friend whilst playing. Although you can get quite lucky sometimes, it still is “sometimes”. For this reason, even if you play big and win big once, we strongly suggest staying true to a conservative strategy.
Conservative strategies have proven to be the more effective ones throughout time.
Closing Thoughts
Spribe is a completely unique software developer which was much needed to bring a breath of fresh air to the iGaming industry. We stand by that statement and truly believe their games are here to stay. Not only that, but once you play them, you can never forget them, unlike some slots. This is exactly why Mines is such a great game. We strongly suggest checking it out for yourself.
