Hotline Casino Game Review
Hotline is yet another very interesting game by Spribe – the game studio that delivers unique and authentic casino games on the regular. These include Aviator, Mines, Goal, and many others. What they bring to the table is completely different and new to what the iGaming community is used to.
Because of this, we decided to go over Hotline, its rules, interface, RTP, volatility, and more. If you find this game interesting, make sure to check our other articles covering Spribe’s games.
Gameplay & Rules
Right off the bat, Hotline meets you with powerful color coordination and a simple design. Although simple, the design is actually very well-made, allowing complete beginners to get used to the interface within a couple of minutes.
The background of the game is this soothing blue/purple color, that makes everything look calm. Red, black, and orange all can be found on the playfield. There aren’t any other colors within the game. However, enough about that, let’s talk about the playing field itself.
When you enter the game for the first time, you will see a square where there are 2 lines in total – 1 above and 1 below. Each of these lines contains red, black, and orange (fire) tiles.
The point here is to predict which 2 tiles will match. For example, the top row can show red, meaning a red tile must match it in the bottom row. If you match the same colored tiles, you will the multiplier.
However, interestingly enough, there’s an option “2 in a row”. This allows you to play the round an additional time for better rewards. However, the risk here is naturally higher as well.
Depending on which color you bet, the multiplier will be different. For example, betting on either red or black results in a multiplier of 4.16x, while betting on orange results in a 600x multiplier. This is the biggest multiplier within the game.
It is worth noting that the game might look different, depending on the device you use to play.
For example, on a desktop, you will see the playing field on the left portion of the screen, while you will see the betting option on the right-hand side of the screen. If you make your browser’s window smaller, the playing field will move to the top half of the screen, while the betting field will move to the bottom half of the screen.
If you play using your mobile device, the playing field will be located in the top half of the screen, while the betting field will be located in the bottom half of the screen. This is identical to using a smaller browser window to play Hotline on a desktop.
The betting limits are similar to those of other Spribe games. You can bet a minimum of $0.10 while the highest possible bet is $100 per round. This results in a jackpot of $60,000 if you hit the 600x multiplier.
Hotline also has 4 preset betting amounts from which you can choose – $1, $3, $5, and $10.
Return To Player (RTP) & Game Volatility
Hotline comes with an RTP of 97%, which is the RTP of all Spribe games. This percentage is way better than the RTP of many video slots, which gives players an advantage.
RTP stands for “return to player”. This is the expected return percentage calculated by a simulator of over 10 million bets. This means that the longer you play, the closer you will be getting to the 97% RTP.
As for the game volatility, you will be playing in a medium volatile environment. Unlike video slots, the volatility here is hard to calculate, because there’s a limited number of options, although the result is completely random every time.
Tips & Tricks
Hotline is a simple, yet intriguing game, that sparked a lot of discussions in different forums, especially the crypto casino subreddits. Many believe they know a way to defy the “code” of the game and win more than the average player. Although some even bring “evidence” one thing is for certain – the game has a completely random generated outcome every single round.
However, there are still things you can do to minimize the risk of losing. This is crucial when playing in the iGaming industry. There are many examples where players get ahead of themselves and lose their whole balance.
Let us give you a couple of suggestions, in case you are new to Hotline by Spribe.
- Tip 1: First of all, as you might already know, casino games have Demo versions. This allows you to explore them and see if they are the right fit for you. This is a thing you must not overlook because you might realize at some point that Mines is just not for you. Whether you dislike the colors, the gameplay, the interface, etc. doesn’t matter as long as you do not enjoy the experience.
Demo versions are also a great way to figure out your own strategy. For example, in Hotline, you can try different tactics that will reduce the risk of losing and optimize the possibility of winning.
- Tip 2: Don’t get too greedy, is our next suggestion. Although it is historically a good idea to go for a bigger multiplier every 10-20 regular rounds, it is probably an even better idea to stay to the lower multiplier options for a bigger win ratio.
- Tip 3: Use the “2 in a row” feature with caution. Although it increases the final multiplier within the game, it also increases the risk of losing. If we are being honest, there is almost no point in playing for that feature.
However, we understand that many players play casino games for the thrill. Yet, we cannot recommend using this feature constantly.
Closing Thoughts
Hotline is another great game by Spribe, as we already mentioned. There are many reasons why it is so popular nowadays. However, we believe that the main reasons are because it is unique, has cool animations, is simple to play, and comes with a high RTP. Try the game out for yourself and see if it fits your game style.
