Keno Casino Game Review
Keno is a unique and interesting game developed by the most intriguing software development studio in the iGaming industry – Spribe. They are popular for some of the most well-known alternative casino games such as Aviator, Mines, Plinko, HiLo, and more.
It is not surprising that we are seeing their games in more and more casinos nowadays, especially crypto-oriented ones. Their games are always lots of fun and bring exceptional experiences.
Gameplay & Rules
Keno is a game that comes in a welcoming design with a unique and soothing red-colored background. This is similar to all other Spribe games. The design itself is very minimalistic, not wasting any graphics.
This makes it very easy to navigate through the game. In the top-right corner, you can find the “How to play?” section, which is present in all other games by the studio. With that being said, let’s talk about the layout.
Once you run the game you will be met with 36 numbers, 6 on each row for 6 reels in total. The game gives you 10 choices. You must bet on 10 different numbers before you start the game.
Your goal is to predict the 10 upcoming numbers. Of course, it is going to be hard to predict all ten, which is the reason for the multiplier.
The multiplier is shown next to the playing field. Depending on how many numbers you guess, the multiplier will be different and is applied instantly upon the end of the round.
If you guess 1 number only, you get a 0x multiplier. That’s also the case if you guess only 2 numbers. If you guess 3 numbers, the multiplier is 1x, meaning you keep your bet.
The win begins once you hit 4 or more numbers. If you choose 4 of the winning numbers, there’s a 1.5x multiplier. If you correctly predict 5, the multiplier is 3.3x.
This is where things get interesting and the multiplier grows immensely. If you guess 6 numbers, the multiplier grows to 10.2x. If you guess 7 numbers, the multiplier is 25x. In case you correctly predict 8 numbers, the multiplier goes to 40x.
If you predict 9 numbers, the multiplier is 75x. And finally, if you predict all 10 numbers, the multiplier is 100x of your bet.
The betting table is located on the right side of the playing field (bottom if you are using a mobile device). You will be betting anywhere between $0.10 and $100 per round. Spribe also has a couple of presets when it comes to bets, making it easy to change the betting amount – $1, $3, $5, and $10.
Return To Player (RTP) & Game Volatility
Keno comes with an RTP of 97%, which is the RTP of all Spribe games. This percentage is way better than the RTP of many video slots, which gives players an advantage. The RTP is usually calculated through a simulation by Spribe of a total of 10 million bets, resulting in the total return to player rate.
This means that the longer you play, the closer you will be getting to the 97% RTP.
As for the game volatility, you will be playing in a medium volatile environment. Unlike video slots, the volatility here is hard to calculate, because there’s a limited number of options, although the result is completely random every time.
Tips & Tricks
If you are an experienced casino player, you probably know there aren’t many games where you can play around with the odds and manage the risk. Spribe’s games are popular for bypassing that rule and giving more power to the player.
Unfortunately, that is not the case with Keno. Here, you have 36 numbers, from which you can only pick 10. This leaves out 26 numbers you cannot cover, no matter what.
Since the game is completely random, there is also no way to predict what the numbers in a round will be. However, there are couple of things we’d like to suggest to players who are just starting out with Keno.
- Tip 1: Try the Demo version of the game. Since Keno is a bit different than other Spribe games, there’s a good chance you will enjoy it, but there’s also the possibility that you will not.
Trying out the Demo version of any game is a good idea. Here, you can test out any strategies or lucky picks, different betting amount, different betting patterns, etc.
No matter what game you play, the Demo version is always worth checking out. It is way better to play the Demo and not like the game, than to play the game for real money and feel frustrated afterwards.
- Tip 2: Do not be greedy. Being greedy in games never ends well. There are many players who are so high on dopamine during play, that they forget to manage their balance and risk.
Although these games are completely random generated, it is better to be able to play more rounds, than play fewer rounds and lose everything. No matter what type of player you are, it is important to keep a cool head through your iGaming journey.
This doesn’t mean you have to play for a $0.10 bet all the time. It rather means that once you win big, it is probably a good idea to head out and play something else.
With that being said, having fun is also an important aspect, so make sure to balance both.
Closing Thoughts
Keno is a bit more mediocre than other Spribe games. It doesn’t have any cool animations, graphics, and mechanics, but it still is a great game, depending on what you like. It comes with a 97% RTP, which is better than most other online casino games nowadays.
Although we suggest checking the game out, make sure to first check out the Demo version of Keno. Play a bit and see if you like it. If you do, do not hesitate to play Keno with real bets.
